A Wiltshire and Trowbridge councillor says the town does not need to be reminded about the climate change emergency.
Cllr Stewart Palmen, the Liberal Democrat councillor for Trowbridge Central, was speaking after 'One World' graffiti was spray-painted on walls and pavements near Trowbridge Town Park.
Cllr Palmen said: "Wiltshire Council was among the first to declare a climate change emergency.
"We are taking action on policies to support the climate change movement. We don't need reminding."
The One World symbol, commonly used by Extinction Rebellion supporters, represents the threat of a sixth mass extinction on earth.
The circle represents the planet and the stylised hourglass is a warning that time is running out for many species.
Supporters are campaigning for local authorities and government to declare a climate change emergency.
