WALON Ltd of Yeovil was fined £550 with costs of £200 by Salisbury magistrates on Monday, January 6, after admitting breaching the 18-tonne weight restriction on the Town Bridge at Bradford on Avon on April 11 last year.

FIRE crews from Westbury, Warminster, Frome, Wilton and Mere put out a fire in an barn at Dilton Marsh on Wednesday, January 8where cylinders were involved.

Fuel spillage

A FIRE crew from Westbury, went to Oldfield Road, Westbury, at 6.21pm on TuesdayJanuary 7, to deal with a small petrol spillage after a van and a motor cycle collided.

Drugs arrest

A MAN in his 20s from Melksham was arrested on suspicion of supplying Class A drugs and driving without a valid licence after police stopped a vehicle in Church Street, Melksham, at 10.48pm on December 31. Class A drugs. He was released under police investigation.

Pair arrested

A MAN and a woman both in their 20s from Melksham were arrested on suspicion of burglary in The Friars, Melksham, at 4.01am on Thursday, January 2. After being searched, the woman was also arrested for possession of cannabis. The pair were released under police investigation.

Power tools stolen

POWER tools including a chop saw worth £600 and a drill driver set valued at £190 were stolen in a burglary at Great Chalfield overnight on Saturday, January 4. The burglar entered a building by smashing a back window before making an untidy search.

Cannabis warning

A MAN in his 20s from Lyneham was given a cannabis street warning after police stopped his vehicle in Loxley Close, Melksham, at 1.45am on Monday, January 6, and he was found to be in possession of herbal cannabis.
