OFFICERS investigating a serious assault in Trowbridge have arrested a man.
The incident happened in the early hours of Friday, January 10 in the Castle Street area, close to the Kings Arms.
A man and woman were assaulted near to a black Vauxhall Corsa which was parked in the area.
The woman – a local woman aged in her 20s – was treated for her injuries at the scene.
The man – also aged in his 20s – is being treated in hospital for a serious head injury.
Late last night, officers arrested a 24-year-old man from Swindon on suspicion of ABH and GBH.
He remains in Melksham custody for questioning today and our enquiries are ongoing.
