TROWBRIDGE Town Hall and The Civic are looking for groups, clubs and hobbyists to join them for the town community fair.

This event is an opportunity to bring together and celebrate the huge variety of activity within Trowbridge.

For groups, it’s a chance to attract new members. For the public, it’s a chance to take up something new in the New Year. If you’ve a new idea for a group, it’s a chance to find like-minded people.

The event will take place simultaneously at The Civic and the Town Hall on Saturday, February 8, from 10.30am to 4pm.

Event co-organiser Tessa Slack said: “We love Trowbridge. There’s so much going on in this under-estimated town. Sometimes, it’s a bit hidden. You have to dig to find the gems.

"We’re shining a light on the wonderful activities that take place in the town and the dedicated people who make them happen. From community choirs to environmental groups, knit-and natterers’ to dodgeball players, there’s so much to do.”

During the day, there’ll also be an opportunity to learn more about developing community groups, including marketing, fundraising and volunteering.

Trowbridge’s Mayor David Cavill, who has been instrumental in pulling together these talks, said: “In my mayoral year, I’m committed to giving community groups in Trowbridge an opportunity to increase their impact.

"The seminars at this event will allow groups to enter the new decade with a toolkit of skills and the increased profile to give them the best chance of success.”

This project has been made possible with funding from the Co-op Foundation and Department for Culture, Media and Sport, through their Spaces to Connect and a donation from Trowbridge’s Cultural Festival of Food.

Stall in the community fair will be free. If you’d like to take part, contact Harriet or Tessa on celebratingtrowbridge@townhallarts.co.uk, call 01225 774306, or pop into the Town Hall.
