BRITISH Telecom could be asked to keep in use two payphones in Trowbridge.
Town councillors may ask for the phone boxes at Town Bridge and The Lamb to be retained.
The council's policy and resources committee has approved a recommendation to retain them as they are used more than once a day on average.
BT is asking councils whether they want to keep 71 public payphones across Wiltshire as most are no longer used.
