TOWN councillors in Warminster are asking for residents' support for their plans to take on services provided by Wiltshire Council.
These include taking on the management of trees, hedges, shrubs and shelter belts, as well as grass cutting in many areas.
It will also involve maintenance of some footpaths, ponds, leaf clearance and the emptying of litter bins.
In addition, the town council will take on the administration of Pine Lawns cemetery and the weekly market.
A spokesman said: "The town council is faced with a simple choice, take on providing these services, or stand by and watch them decline.
"Of course, this has a cost, but in terms of a Band D council tax, it will be something like £1 a week extra."
Residents are being urged to complete a simple survey on the council's website by the closing date of January 20.
