POLICE plan to step down their presence at a house in Penhill.
It follows a visit from the army bomb squad on Monday afternoon after a drugs squad officers executing a search warrant uncovered what police would only describe as suspicious items.
In a statement, a Wiltshire Police spokeswoman said the items may have been used in the production of illegal drugs. She would not confirm exactly what was found.
“During one of the warrants in Penhill yesterday, a number of suspicious items were located. As a result of this, the fire service and Explosive Ordnance Disposal were called to the scene,” she said.
“Although our enquiries are continuing, we believe the items discovered have been used in the production of illegal drugs and these have been seized for further analysis. There is no wider risk to the public.
“There is likely to be less police activity at the address today.”
