THE following people have appeared before magistrates in Swindon and Salisbury recently.

CHIPPENHAM: Ieuan Leyton Davies, 28, c/o Sidney Wood Court, was ordered to pay £175 in fines and costs and complete a 12-month community order with 150 hours of unpaid work. He admitted assaulting Robert Jefferies by beating him on August 26 in Chippenham and using violence to secure entry into Sidney Wood Court on the same date. He was given to February 26 to pay.

WARMINSTER: Sam Mark Ellerby, 27, of Woodman Mead, was remanded on unconditional bail to April 16 at Swindon after pleading not guilty to assaulting Peter Paul Capp by beating him on August 3 at Warminster. He also pleaded not guilty to assaulting Cadan Bligdon by beating him in Warminster on August 8. The court ordered that a solicitor be appointed to cross-examine Mr Bligdon.He was also remanded on unconditional bail to April 9 after pleading not guilty to two offences of driving a flatbed truck at Westleigh on September 8 while disqualified and without insurance.

CALNE: Alex William Maslen, 22, of Ridgemead, was ordered by Swindon magistrates to pay £330 in fines, costs and a victim surcharge after he admitted driving a VW Golf on Porte Marsh Road carelessly on July 27. His driving record was endorsed with five points and a collection order made.

COLERNE: Neil Morris Rigby, 56, of Pinewood Way, was fined £697 and ordered to pay £85 costs and a £69 victim surcharge after he admitted a drink-driving offence on December 1 in North Colerne. He was banned from driving for two years and given until February 26 to pay.

CHIPPENHAM: Ashley James Unwin, 31, of no fixed abode, was conditionally discharged for 12 months and told to pay a victim surcharge of £21 after admitting remaining at premises on Milbourne Way, Chippenham, on December 2 last year in contravention of a closure order. He must pay by February 26.

COLERNE: Abimbola Rahman Abudu, 38, of Hazel Way, was given a 12-month community order and told to complete 100 hours of unpaid work after he admitted failing to provide a breath specimen for analysis. Abudu was also ordered to pay a £90 victim surcharge and £85 costs, banned from driving for 17 months and was given to February 26 to pay.

CHIPPENHAM: Swindon magistrates issued a warrant for the arrest of Shannon Elaine Graham, 32, of Milbourne Way, on two charges of theft from Tesco in Chippenham. She is charged with stealing items worth £21.19 on September 21, and stealing groceries valued at £6.09 on October 18

CHIPPENHAM: Ryan Jonathan Peck, 23, of Old Road, was remanded on bail to February 26 by Swindon magistrates on a charge of assaulting Richard Thorne by beating him on January 4 in Chippenham. He admitted the offence on January 6, and reports are being prepared.

WESTBURY: Luke Smith, 32, of Downs View Road, admitted fishing with a rod and line at Shearwater Lake, Warminster, on August 26 without a licence. He was fined £83, ordered to pay a £32 victim surcharge and £135 costs, to be paid by February 12.

CHIPPENHAM: Cameron McAuley Chapman, 22, c/o Unity House, Wood Lane, was ordered to pay £60 costs after he breached a community order made on December 4. He failed to attend probation appointments on December 12, 18 and 19 and January 2. He was told to carry out 20 hours of unpaid work within the next 12 months.

GREAT BEDWYN: Swindon magistrates issued an arrest warrant for Kevin Anthony Cottrell, 35, of Church Street, after he failed to comply with the requirements of a community order imposed on May 23. He failed to attend supervision appointments on January 10 and 17.

MARLBOROUGH: Swindon magistrates issued an arrest warrant for Craig William Mantock, 29, of St Margaret’s Mead, for failing to comply with the requirements of a community order made on July 24. He failed to attend unpaid work sessions on November 1 and 8 and a compliance appointment on December 24.

DEVIZES: Swindon Court agreed to extend a community order by four months to allow Stephen Edward O’Brien, 50, of Woodlands Way, to complete a thinking skills programme.

MELKSHAM: The case of Lee James Rumens, 50, of Fullers Close, was adjourned to March 23. He has pleaded not guilty to using a mobile phone while driving on the A3102 at Melksham on May 10 last year.
