THE Bradford on Avon canopy project is making tracks.
The project had an update meeting recently for residents and now has plans being drawn up which need to be issued to builders. After which, fundraising can start so the project can happen.
Trustee for the project, John Potter, said: “People kept asking about it and are very keen for it to happen. It has taken a long time for us to become a charity. We had tests on the canopy so it wouldn’t wear and a geo-physical survey.
“We have been promised by the railway heritage fund they will fund a percentage of the cost.
“When it’s put on, the railway will have to close and the line shut with work being done. But Network rail and Great Western will have those discussions.
“It will be a lovely thing as there are not many stations left like ours so it will look beautiful when it’s done.”
