ALZHEIMER'S Support's fifth annual Gala Dinner saw more than 100 people affected by dementia enjoy a night of glamour as guests of honour.

Sally Haddrell-Jenks, event organiser and head of registered services at the Wiltshire charity, said: "This is our way of saying thank you to the people we support. Many of those who use our services do not often get the chance to put their glad rags on so we want to give them the opportunity to do that at least once a year.”

"We could not run this event without the generosity of Trowbridge food company apetito, who once again generously donated the three-course meal and a kitchen team. We also have fantastic support from Wellington Barn in Calne who are very generous hosts, and from so many friends of the charity who act as table hosts.

"It says so much about our organisation that our staff practically queue up to volunteer to wait on the tables or help out in the kitchen."

Lee Sheppard from apetito said: “We work very closely with those living with dementia through provision of meals services to the elderly and vulnerable, as well as through our community support projects.

"Alzheimer’s Support does a fantastic job making a real difference to those living with dementia, and their families. It is an honour to partner with a charity that gives so much to our local community.”
