HOMELESS charity Julian House is to open its fifth bike shop in The Shires shopping centre in Trowbridge.

The charity already sells bikes at its shop in the centre but is now expanding its retail offer into the space upstairs.

Spokesman Martin Chappell said: “We will be opening a new retail area above the charity shop.

“It’s a good opportunity to use existing space. There’s a huge area there we can use.”

The new shop will open at 10am on Saturday (February 15). It will open from 10am to 4pm Monday to Saturday.

Julian House already has one bike shop in Duke Street, Trowbridge, which will stay open. The other three bike shops are in Exeter, Bath and Bristol.

The charity refurbishes second-hand bikes and offers them for sale, alongside new bicycles and cycling accessories.

Mr Chappell, Julian House’s business development manager, says the charity will always welcome donated bikes from the community for refurbishment.
