A MAN is in hospital with 'serious' facial injuries after an attack in Thatcham, West Berkshire.

Thames Valley Police said the 18-year-old victim was attacked by a man in the Broadway this morning.

It is believed to have happened about 1.30am when the victim was assaulted and left with serious facial injuries. He was rushed to hospital where the force said he remains.

A description of the attacker is not available, but police are calling for anyone that may have information to come forwards.

Investigating officer, Detective Sergeant Gareth Perry of Newbury Force CID, said: “This was a serious assault which left the victim with GBH level injuries to his face.

“Although there is not currently a description of the offender, I would like to appeal to anyone who was in the Broadway last night and who may have seen an assault, or who has any other details which could be relevant to this investigation.
