TROWBRIDGE Civic Centre is to be lit up in purple in May to support the Bath and Trowbridge Fibromyalgia Support Group.
The town’s mayor, Cllr David Cavill, is also planning to attend the group’s meeting in Tesco’s Community Room in County Way, Trowbridge, on Monday, May 11.
The group meets there on every second Monday of each month between 11am and 1pm.
Group spokesman Stuart Davidson said the group has 850 people on its books and welcomes those who suffer from long-term illnesses.
He said: “We are holding our awareness week in May for this debilitating illness and will be lighting the Civic Centre in purple from Saturday, May 9.
“The Town Mayor David Cavill will be in attendance prior to him standing down from his role in office.
“We will also have other guests who do help us in our quest to bring a little more to our friendly group who support each other in our hours of darkness.”
They include the Wiltshire Bobby Van charity, whose representatives will offer advice on safe-guarding individual’s homes and property.
