The Palace Cinema in Devizes remains open despite the Prime Minister yesterday advising people to stop going out to watch movies but it has cancelled tonight's live performance of Fidelio.
On Facebook the cinema owners say: "Tonight’s LIVE performance of Fidelio has been cancelled, due to the Royal Opera House’ decision to close its doors to the public.
"This does not effect our alternative movie schedule."
Earlier in the week the cinema posted that it was doing everything it could to minimise the spread of COVID-19.
It said: "The health and safety of all of our staff and guests is of the utmost importance to us, and so we are taking several steps to help combat the spread of Coronavirus."
Odeon, which has cinemas in Trowbridge and Salisbury, Cineworld, with cinemas in Swindon, and Picture House chains have closed.
