A NEW market could be launched at Innox Mills in Trowbridge from April.

Trowbridge town councillors gave their approval to the markets at their full council meeting on Tuesday March 17.

The Innox Mills directors, father and son Michael and Jonathan Dean, want to run markets on the third Sunday of each month from April 19 to December 20.

The market has the backing of the group which organises the current Weaver’s Markets in Trowbridge. It comes ahead of the site’s redevelopment for 300 new homes.

Cllr Stewart Palmen, who helped set up the Weaver's Markets, said: "They are planning cinema events and classic car shows.

"There is a lot of exciting stuff going to be happening on that site."

But some councillors expressed concerns about access. They were told the developer is planning access through the railway station car park.
