A TROWBRIDGE fan of Lady Gaga is to conquer two of her worst fears by doing a skydive in Las Vegas for the American singer's charity.

Wendy Cox hopes to travel to the US city in May to raise funds for the singer, songwriter and actress's Born This Way Foundation.

She said: "As many of my friends are aware, I'm a huge Lady Gaga fan.

"Whilst in the gym one day, I just had the most random thought ever - when I go back to Las Vegas I could do a skydive and raise money for the Born This Way Foundation.

"As much as I love flying, I'm absolutely terrified of heights and falling. I certainly have never ever wanted to jump out of a plane, so where the idea of doing a skydive came from I will never know."

Mrs Cox, 55, of Buckleaze Close, Trowbridge, plans to complete the skydive on May 19 in memory of her husband, Robert, who died in a tragic accident in Spain in November 2018 aged 54, only six weeks after her mother, Pamela Steward, 76, had died.

"My husband suffered from bipolar disorder and my mum had pancreatic cancer. I try my hardest to stay strong and positive which, at times, is a lot easier said than done.

"My husband always used to believe and encourage me to face my fears. He used to say that fear is the mind killer."

Stefani Germanotta, better known as Lady Gaga, set up the BTWF youth charity in 2011 with her mother Cynthia Germanotta.

The USA non-profit organization aims to inspire youth and build better communities.
