BIRTHDAY boy Nigel Evans was determined his celebrations this year were not going to be dashed with his favourite pub under lock down.

Each year on his birthday he visits the Lock Inn at Bradford on Avon for a lunchtime meal and a few drinks.

With the Lock Inn currently closed he has opened his alternative - his garden room turned pub - which he's called the Locked Inn.

Nigel has been collecting Ushers Brewery memorabilia for his garden room and slowly dressing the building as an alternative pub where he can chill out after working on his garden.

With the enforced stay at home he's now enjoying his very own public house in his back yard.

Mr Evans runs Nigel's Hair Design in Duke Street, Trowbridge, the location for the former Ushers Brewery bottling stores.

He said: "I spoke to a few of my customersover the last year asking them to look out for pub memorabilia and fittings relating to the Ushers Brewery.

"The pub-related items soon came in, which gave me the idea of my own little pub.

"The enforced stay at home is not such an ordeal now I have my own pub but the only disadvantage is that it's only open to members of my household.”
