HOLLYWOOD film and television director Paul Weiland is giving away hundreds of tulips grown in his gardens at Belcombe Court.

They are being left close to the gates outside his Grade 1 listed 18th century home in in Bradford on Avon for passers by who wish to take a bunch or two.

Mr Weiland's daughter in law Charlie Dyer, 32, said: "We grow tulips every year and normally distribute to florists.

"Due to the current coronavirus pandemic we’re unable to do that but the tulips are more beautiful than ever.

"We know there are a lot of people in Bradford-on-Avon who are unable to leave their homes, relying on volunteers to do their shopping etc.

"It’s so important to keep their spirits up and we know our colourful tulips would do just that.

"We are leaving bunches for free outside our gate, on Belcombe Road for people to pick up as they walk or drive by.

"The tulips will last for about a week if they’re put in a vase on the day that they’re picked."
