A MELKSHAM man has been remanded on bail to July 9 at Swindon Court charged with assaulting a woman in the town by beating her on December 27.

Thomas Carl Bryant, 28, of Pennine Close, is further charged with damaging jewellery and a watch belonging to the victim on the same date.

He is also charged with assaulting the same victim by beating at Rowde on January 4 and sending an electronic message that was grossly offensive on the same date.

He has pleaded not guilty to all four charges and was ordered not to contact the victim directly or indirectly.

Bryant was arrested by police on April 17 for allegedly breaking bail conditions not to contact the victim, which he denied.

Magistrates dismissed the charge on April 18 after finding the case not proved.
