JAZZ singer and BBC Radio 2 presenter Clare Teal and her Trio are to perform at this year’s Iford Arts Festival.

She has been booked to appear at the festival’s Prom on Friday, August 28.

The festival’s Prom is once again being held at Paul Weiland’s Belcombe Court home in Bradford on Avon.

Gates open at 5pm for picnics with music in the garden from 6pm.

Main music begins at 7pm and the event is expected to ends by 9.45pm.

Miss Teal’s set will consist of a celebration of popular music from the golden age of song.

Her jazz trio features Jason Rebello on keyboards, Simon Little on double bass and Ben Reynolds on drums.

An Iford Arts Festival spokeswoman said: “This brand new show promises a rich jazz-infused repertoire in its many forms bringing you more exhilarating swing as Clare and her Trio celebrate 100 years of pop music featuring some of the greatest songs ever written from the Great American and British song books and contemporary writers creating the standards of today.

“As one of the UK’s greatest interpreters of song and much-loved performers, Clare and her Trio guarantee an evening of inspired music and unbridled entertainment performed by the very best.”

Because of the Covid-19 crisis, Iford Arts’ 2020 season of opera and concerts will no longer take place.
