Wiltshire Council have decided on the following decisions this week.

BOX: Ashley Rich of Lye Cottage in Devizes Road put forward an application to cut down one silver birch tree. The application was met with no objections.

MALMESBURY: Ms Orysya Lyvchanyn of 29 Lower Street, Rode submitted an application to construct of a gabion wall, infilling, tree planting and for the change of use from agricultural land to family leisure woodland on land adjacent to the Waitrose in the town. Their application was refused.

The decision said: “The proposed gabion wall and infilling would result in less than substantial harm to the significance of the heritage assets and their setting through removal of historic landscape which is not outweighed by public benefits.

“The application site is one of high archaeological potential with finds of historic significance made on the adjoining land when subject of development for the Waitrose supermarket. The application has not been supported by an Archaeological evaluation or investigation of any kind and the applicant has declined to provide such an assessment.”

MELKSHAM: Plans have been submitted by Mr Daniel Tucker 6A Padfield Gardens to construct a single-storey outbuilding within the rear garden of the main house, where the proposed building is to contain a small dance/exercise studio and shower room. The plans have been approved.

CHIPPENHAM: Mr Sholanke of 54 Park Lane has had plans for a proposed loft conversion and associated works approved.

CHIPPENHAM: Mr Davis of 28 Brookwell Close has submitted plans for the conversion of a garage, a two-storey extension to the south west and south east elevations, as well as a single-storey garage to the south east elevation, new access, dropped kerb and a new driveway. These plans have been approved.

CHIPPENHAM: Mr and Mrs Moore of 42 Sheldon Road submitted plans for a first-floor extension over an existing single-storey building. The plans were approved.

CHIPPENHAM: A box elder, ash and holly tree will be cut down after plans submitted by Mr Pilcher of Jessfield House, Ivy Road was met with no objections. The plans also included the reduction of a conifer to nine meters.

WINSLEY: Mr Burbage of 17 Bradford Road has had plans approved for two-storey side extension behind and over existing garage, loft conversion with rearward-facing dormer.

HARTLEY: Plans submitted for proposed alterations and adaptations to an existing indoor riding school to form American Barn for stabling at Hartley Farm have been approved.

PEWSEY: Plans submitted by Mr Wyles for the change use of part of an existing agricultural field to provide a village parking area for 20 cars with associated works and landscaping has been refused. The agricultural field was north of Honeystreet village.

GREAT BEDWYN: Mr and Mrs Rickman of Haredown have had their resubmitted plans for the proposed thatching of a historical former threshing barn; alterations to interior and exterior of the barn for use as ancillary domestic facilities. These plans also involve the recladding of the existing modern portal-framed barn.

TROWBRIDGE: Mr Peter Slatford submitted plans for the retention of two mobile classrooms with toilets at Walwayne Court School (pictured), Brook Road in Trowbridge. The plans were approved.

TROWBRIDGE: A four-bedroom bungalow with an attached garage will be built at 14 The Knapps, Semington after plans for the development, submitted by Mr and Mrs Fedele Monico were approved by Wiltshire Council.

NORTH BRADLEY: Ms Cullum of 7 Southwick Road has had her plans for the enlargement of existing rear single-storey outbuilding extension to form new habitable rooms approved.

ROYAL WOOTTON BASSETT: Plans submitted by Mr Pang of Bleets House, Feltham Lane for the construction of a residential block of flats providing four one-bed and two, two-bed flats and associated change of use from car park have been approved.

STUDLEY: Plans for the proposed raising of a roof by 900mm to an industrial unit to house new controller unit for the existing saw at Studley Sawmills, were approved.

CHAPMANSLADE: Mr Crispin Thomas of Huntenhull Farm, Huntenhull Lane submitted plans for the change of use of tractor shed to a holiday cottage and new access have been approved. One condition for the permission was that no one shall occupy the property for longer than two months at any one time.
