PLANS for a new £500,000 village hall at Berryfield in Melksham have been submitted to Wiltshire Council for approval.
Melksham Without Parish Council and Berryfield & Semington Road Action Group say they are "excited" to be progressing to the next stage with the new village hall project.
The hall is being provided as part of a new development of 150 Bellway homes.
Parish council clerk Teresa Strange said: "It combines our desire to provide a permanent venue for the existing community, coupled with a fantastic opportunity to provide facilities for those moving into the new housing development and integrating the two communities together with a lasting legacy of a permanent, purpose built, sustainable venue for all to use and enjoy for years to come."
Plans were submitted on Wednesday and the deadline for consultation is Wednesday, June 10.
Wiltshire Council is expected to make a decision by Wednesday, July 8.
