ARTICLES chronicling the history of Malpas have been made available online.

Malpas History was a magazine released roughly twice a year between 1983 and 1988, highlighting stories from Malpas' past by the History Research Group.

The group was originally associated with Malpas Field Club, but later became an independent body.

During the eighties, Malpas History transcribed various documents related to the Malpas area, all of which have now been scanned and published online.

Malpas Field Club secretary, David Haynes, explains.

"In the early days of its existence, during the 1980s, Malpas Field Club had a number of sub-sections," said David.

"One of these was the History Research Group, which in later years became independent of the Field Club and went on to carry out some valuable transcription work on documents relating to the Malpas area.

"The first project, while the group was still part of the Field Club, was the production of a roughly twice-yearly magazine Malpas History.

"This ran to nine issues in all, from December 1983 to March 1988.

"All nine issues are now available through the Internet, free to read and download, on the Malpas Cheshire Online website."
