A DEVIZES factory has confirmed it has been closed since Thursday when two people reported suffering from coronavirus symptoms.

A spokesman for Ball Aerocan in Folly Road said that company protocols had kicked in and all staff members were tested.

They refused to say if any of the workforce of more than 100 had tested positive but said the factory would be re-opening later today.

The spokesman said: "We take health and safety very seriously and it is our top priority. All staff were tested. We have now been told it is safe for us to re-open."

They said that anyone who displays coronavirus symptoms are told to immediately self isolate in line with Government guidelines.

The company has remained producing aerosol cans and other products during lockdown but strict safety measures had been introduced including distancing, changes to toilet and wash areas and the constant use of hand sanitisers.
