A MEMORIAL garden at a Royal Wootton Bassett crematorium will help people remember loved ones who died during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Two gardens will be created at North Wiltshire Crematorium in Bassett and West Wiltshire Crematorium, near Trowbridge.
They will be landscaped with colourful, seasonal planting making up a rainbow as a symbol of hope.
A stone memorial will be carved by Westerleigh’s stonemasons.
Westerleigh chief executive Roger Mclaughlan said: “Over the centuries, people have commemorated significant, life-changing events by creating memorials to honour those who have died. We wanted to do something similar to acknowledge the impact that the Covid-19 pandemic has had on the local communities we serve.”
At total of 34 gardens will be in place at Westerleigh Group's crematoria in the UK.
Work is expected to begin on the stone memorials in autumn, with garden landscaping taking place in early spring next year.
