Last week we reported on the owner of the popular beauty spot at Warleigh Weir near Claverton (pictured) banning visitors for the foreseeable future.

The owner of the weir near Bath posted a video online saying the island had been fenced off to the public due to the anti-social behaviour and littering by those using the weir.

Here’s what you had to say:

Daniel James Myles: Good. Such a lovely spot but ruined by vermin. It’s disgusting how people leave their rubbish there without a care.

Gary Moore: Can’t blame him at all, people need to learn to respect things, although that may be a hard lesson for some.

Adam Taylor: I’m sure they were just making their way there to test out their eyesights.

Suzanne Wilson: There’s always a few that will spoil it for everyone else.

Cara Jane Parsons: No surprise their, lemmings.

We also covered the news that Wiltshire Council were to reintroduced parking charges across the county as of June 1, a very divisive topic, which really got you going.

Vince Fortune: You can always count on our Wiltshire Council to support the businesses and our community.

Clare Marriott: Hope they install contactless or an app you can pay on. Think of how many people will be touching the machines daily.

David Choonage: No doubt our housing estate spaces will start getting taken by the tight wads who don’t want to pay for parking.

Jacki Harvey: Before the shops are even allowed to open up!? You’d think they would at least give the independent shops a head start!

Jeremy Myres: Does that mean all shops will be open as usual then. No distance, No Waiting in line to get into supermarkets etc. If not then the Council need to have their heads examined.

Sue West: That’s the end of our free parking at work.

Martin Beta: Bit like the cheap petrol....I found it so helpful since I haven’t been driving anywhere!

Judith Flippance: Sounds about right.

Michael Hancock: Not slow off the mark there.

Police have warned they would be patrolling Lacock last weekend to check on large gatherings down by the river.

Lorna Horlock: I know I live in wales so my opinion doesn’t count , but how big have these gardens got to be if everyone stays 6ft apart !!!

Claire Keenor: To be fair though it’s a bit strange as on Monday 1 June and the week after year 10 and 12 go back so 15-17 year olds OK to be inside school together but not outside together . Rules too obscure and contradictory. Not at all condoning it or the littering.

Sarah Baalham: Maybe they’re testing each others eyesight?

Jeremy Myres: Try getting the police to the beeches then ffs. Social distancing, ha.

Sean Honeywell: Because the police will do what? Absolutely nothing that’s what.

It was confirmed by Downing Street this week that there will no longer be daily briefings held over the weekends.

These press conferences have been held on all but two days since March 16, but as of this week the government has decided to scrap them on Saturdays and Sundays.

Paul Burnett: Or because many people are no longer interested in anything the government have to say?

Carly Batten: The reason they are lower on weekends is because everyone's gone to the Jurassic coast line!

Pauline Self: I do not watch the news. But I always listen to the daily briefings.

Chrissy Bodman: Governments makes it up as they go along ..one rule for us and another for everyone else

Sandra Sutton: Should scrap them all and save us from stupid daily questions from journalists who clearly haven't been listening
