BURGLARS have forced their way into a property in Sedgefield Gardens, Devizes, and threatened a woman in her 70s with a knife.

Around 8am yesterday, the men also searched a bedroom at the address.

The incident is believed to have happened shortly after 8am.

The men then left the scene and ran off in an unknown direction. It is not believed anything was stolen during the burglary.

Det Con Jayne Wilby said: “This was understandably very frightening for the victim. It is fortunate that she was not injured however she was understandably very shaken up and has been left feeling frightened as a result of this incident.

“We have been conducting extensive enquiries today and have obtained descriptions of the two men involved. The first man is described as white, approximately 18 years old, 5 ft 3 inches tall, of slim build and wearing a grey hoodie. The second man is described as white, also aged around 18 years old, of a similar height and build, and wearing a black or navy coloured hoodie.

“We would urge anyone who was in the area, or anyone who may have seen these individuals, to get in touch as they may have information which could be significant to our investigation.”
