TROWBRIDGE Westbourne Tennis Club members are already in full swing for the summer with singles and doubles being played on their four courts at Westbourne Gardens.

With tennis being one of the few sports able to be played with social distancing, club members have been able to get back to keeping fit.

Committee member Rich Cannon said: “We have been closely following government and Lawn Tennis Association guidelines.

“We’re not able to open our clubhouse at the moment and the local league matches aren’t going ahead this season, but our members have been really enjoying getting active again to shake off some of those lockdown cobwebs.”

The club is a community amateur sports club, so is ‘not for profit’ and the new membership year has been adjusted to run from July 1-March 31 2021.

“We welcome players of all ages and standards, from beginners to potential league players,” Mr Cannon said.

“With Wimbledon sadly cancelled this year, there is a great chance for tennis fans to come and hit some balls instead.

"Maybe people missing out on other sports might also like to have a go at tennis?”
