Swindon Town defender Paul Caddis has spoken of the similarities between current manager Richie Wellens and 2012 title-winner Paolo Di Canio.

Speaking after lifting the League Two title for the second time in eight years, Caddis said: "Both of them are similar on the pitch. They’re very detailed, tactically they’re very aware of what positions and our strengths are.

"I’d say the manager now is a bit more calm and will take a step back and have a think before he reacts."

During his time at the club, Paolo Di Canio was known for his passionate post-match interviews as well as his emphatic celebrations and anger.

Caddis added: "But I’ve got no problem with the volatile management of Di Canio. He was successful, we were successful and it worked really good. We won the league.

"They are very similar but I’d say the temperament of both is pretty different."

Under Di Canio, Caddis was captain of the club and made 50 appearances as the club won an instant promotion back to League One.
