TWO men who were boating on an inflatable dinghy became abusive after being challenged for littering.

The pair were on the River Stour, near River Way, Christchurch, when one of them was spotted throwing a can into the river.

When a man, aged in his 60s, challenged them about it, they started verbally abusing him.

When police arrived on scene after the victim called them, the pair were verbally abusive towards officers before making off.

Police Constable Sam Kinsella, of Christchurch police, said: "We are continuing to make enquiries into this incident and have obtained images of two people we would like to speak to as part of our investigation.

“I would urge anyone with information as to their identity to please contact us.”

The incident took place around 5.10pm on Thursday, June 25.
