A knife with a long blade was found dumped at at Trowbridge skate park yesterday.

Officers say they were called to the park after reports of anti social behaviour. They were told that the knife with a 20cm blade had been hidden by bins. A spokesman said: "PCSO Wilkins, PCSO Till and PCSO Wallace were called to Trowbridge Skate Park for anti social behaviour.

"Upon arriving we were alerted to a knife that had been concealed by the bins. This is a large knife with a 20cm blade. This knife has been seized by police and will be destroyed.

"We take knife crime very seriously, if you are caught in possession of a knife or an offensive weapon you can be sentenced with up to four years in prison."

A number of people took to social media to express alarm at a knife being found in an area where children play.
