The Air Accidents Investigation Branch says it will be launching an investigation after a replica WW2 aircraft crashed in a field near Chiseldon.
Such investigations are normal procedure where civil aircraft are involved in accidents or serious incidents.
A spokeswoman for the AAIB said: “This afternoon the AAIB was informed of an accident involving a light aircraft at an airstrip south of Swindon, and will be conducting an investigation.”

Firefighters, paramedics and police were called to the farm air strip off the A346 between Chiseldon and Ogbourne St George shortly before 2pm.
A half-size Focke Wulf FW 190 replica fighter plane had landed on its roof in a field of wheat, around 10m from the grass landing strip.
The male pilot was taken to Great Western Hospital with minor injuries.
The emergency services had left the scene by 4pm.
