THE manager of a Trowbridge pub has spoken after an incident nearby which left two men needing paramedic's attention following a brawl.

The pair were involved in a disturbance off Mortimer Street last Thursday evening, and one man was treated by South Western Ambulance Service paramedics at the scene for a cut lip.

R. Smith, the manager of the nearby Greyhound pub, said: "Whatever the incident was, it was nothing to do with the pub and police dealt with it in the car park.

"The car park is nothing to do with the pub, we do not own it or have any allocated spaces. The car park belongs to Wiltshire Council."

A police spokesman said: "We were called to reports of a disturbance at just before 9pm.

"It appears two men were fighting although the incident had calmed down when we arrived.

"Both did not want to engage with our officers."

Eyewitnesses said the men involved in the disturbance were not believed to have been customers of the pub.
