The Rotary Club of Chippenham have had to adapt to the current circumstances and raise money for their work in the community in a completely different way than they would have done in the past.

Previously they used to organise events such as the annual firework display in Monkton Park, holding concerts and a charity golf tournament to supplement their charitable funds. However due to Covid-19 they have had to cancel all of these.

They have now come up with an ideal solution. Due to the very kind donation of the use of retail premises in Chippenham, they have opened a Pop-Up Shop right in the centre of the town. It is an ideal location, right beside Bath Road car park on the north side of the main river bridge in Bath Road.

It is hoped that the shop, which will remain open for another four weeks, will raise lots of money for the Rotary Club’s good causes. There will be a huge selection of quality nearly new clothes, as well as bric-a-brac, books, toys, DVDs, CDs & all sorts of goodies.

In addition, they will sell locally made ice cream in hygienic tubs, as well as wonderful oils & salad dressings from a north Somerset farm. There will also be local artwork and notecards on sale.

Rick Squires, President of the club, said; “We see the Pop-Up Shop as an ideal opportunity to replenish our charitable funds. We will use the additional monies to benefit the local community, as well as those overseas who are in desperate need. Please pop in and browse for a bargain, we’d love to see you.”
