ALZHEIMER'S Support in Trowbridge has reopened more community support groups after being exempted from the new Covid-19 pandemic restrictions.

Music for the Mind in Trowbridge, Warminster Art Group and Westbury Memory Café are the latest Alzheimer’s Support community groups to welcome members back as they reopen.

The return of the charity’s wide range of community gatherings across Wiltshire is gradual and controlled.

A thorough risk assessment has been carried out and strict guidelines set by Public Health England are being followed to ensure everyone stays safe.

Babs Harris, Alzheimer’s Support chief executive officer, said: “We were very confident that we would meet all requirements.

"We have now had it confirmed by Public Health England: our community groups are indeed exempt from the latest restrictions and can reopen as planned. We look forward to seeing everyone again.”

Music for the Mind meets on Monday at Trowbridge Town Hall in Market Street and offers an uplifting and enjoyable afternoon of songs and chat.

Warminster Art Group meets on the first and third Wednesday of the month at Lakeside Community Centre in Weymouth Street and is open to artists of all abilities.

Westbury Memory Café will reopen on Wednesday, October 14 at Grassacres Hall in Eden Vale Road. It offers an opportunity to meet new people ‘in the same boat’ and enjoy a variety of entertainment.

The groups are open to existing members and their carers.

New members are invited to contact the charity at www.alzheimerswiltshire.org.uk or call 01380 739055 to register and book a place.
