Fire fighters had to rescue a young boy who got his head stuck in a metal traffic cone.

A crew from Devizes was called to The Leaze, Bromham after the boy decided to put the cone on his head and then could not get out.

An ambulance was called to the scene at 11.50am on September 22 but were unable to get the lad out of the tangle so called on the fire service to help. The fire crew had to use bolt cutters to free the boy.

A spokesman for the fire service said: "Ambulance requested fire service attendance. A crew from Devizes were mobilised due to a report of a young boy having a metal traffic cone stuck on his head.

"Crews made an assessment and used bolt croppers to release the young boy from his new unintentional head garment."

On Sunday a Devizes crew was called to a house in the town at 7.25am after a child got stuck in their bedroom.

A fire control spokesman said: "Crew mobilised to help release a child stuck in their bedroom! I can imagine not the best way to start a Sunday!"
