A TROWBRIDGE pageant contestant will have to wait a year to see if she will be crowned Miss Teen Great Britain.

The former Clarendon Academy pupil Destinie-Mae Greenland, 18, was due to represent Wiltshire at the national finals in October.

But the event has been postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic and she will now have to wait until October next year to compete for the title.

Miss Greenland said she was "disappointed" with the news but knows it is for the best.

The national finals of the Miss Teen Great Britain pageant for girls aged 16-19 were due to take place at the Globe Theatre in Blackpool on October 26 and 27.

The national finals for the Little Miss Teen Great Britain pageant for girls aged 10-12, and the Miss Junior Teen Great Britain pageant for girls aged 13-15 were scheduled to be held on October 24 and 25.

Miss Greenland, who works for B&Q in Trowbridge, will be competing against 60 other contestants for a £1,000 cash prize.

The title winner will also get a photo shoot with the EKB Modelling Agency which could potentially lead to lucrative modelling contracts.
