Revised plans for a second Trowbridge McDonald’s have been rejected by the town council.
The‘slightly’ altered the boundaries of McDonald's plans for the Tesco Extra site were brought forward at Tuesday’s Town Development committee meeting, where it was recommended that councillors uphold their previous objection.
The motion to continue the council’s opposition to the County Way bid was put forward by town mayor, Cllr Peter Fuller and seconded by Cllr Andrew Bryant.
After which the vote was carried with no objections from committee members.
A target date for a Wiltshire Council decision on the restaurant is set for Monday, November 30.
However, when asked if the application would be seen at the next local authority meeting, it was believed that the wait could be longer still.
Cllr Fuller said: “This latest revision put the application back and they, of course, more or less have to start again.
“I could see this application hanging around until next year.”
