AFTER more than six months of Covid-19 pandemic restrictions Wiltshire charity Alzheimer’s Support is reopening its Warminster Memory Café on Monday October 26.

The café will be located in the new venue of Warminster’s Lakeside Community Centre at the Lakeside Pleasure Grounds. New members are very welcome to join.

The evening café will meet on the fourth Monday of each month for activities, chat, entertainment, a chance to catch up informally with dementia professionals and find out more about dementia and available support.

Alzheimer’s Support has also recently reopened its popular Art Group at the same venue, which meets on the first and third Wednesday afternoon of the month.

The sessions are open to people with dementia and a family carer of all artistic abilities and also offers the opportunity to socialise in a relaxed, informal group.

Sarah Marriott, head of community services, said: “We’re so pleased to restart our community groups and look forward to welcoming new members."

"There’s a real family feel to them and even though staff and volunteers have to wear personal protection equipment, we are determined to ensure the sessions are as enjoyable as ever and feel normal.”

All of Alzheimer’s Support’s groups are exempt from the Rule of Six and the charity is following strict procedures that are approved by Public Health England.
