Members at Kingsdown Golf Club, in Corsham, have gathered together to pay respects to one of their "much loved" seniors members.

John Cowie, a keen golfer, died in June of this year.

He had managed to complete a beautiful painting of one of the iconic greens at the golf course that he enjoyed to play on.

His wife, Kathleen, very kindly bequeathed the painting, of the 17th Green, to the Kingsdown Golf Club as a memento of her "generous" late husband.

She recently joined other golfers to officially handover the painting and ensure Mr Cowie's legacy lived on at the club.

Charles Freeman, Seniors Captain, said the painting would have "pride of place" at Kingsdown Golf Club.

He added: “This is a marvellous gesture from one of our very talented members. It will take pride of place in our Club House and be a wonderful reminder of how generous and much loved John was”.
