A WARMINSTER care home is looking forward to a new era after receiving a 'Good' rating from the Care Quality Commission.

Henford House Care Home passed its recent CQC inspection with an overall Good rating after being praised for a responsive, safe, effective, caring and well-led service.

The home on Lower Marsh Road, Warminster, provides residential care and nursing care for 53 residents from respite care to long term stays.

Natalie James, general manager at the home, which is run by Barchester Healthcare and employs 59 permanent staff, said: “We are delighted that Henford House was rated ‘Good’ overall following the CQC’s most recent inspection.

"The team at Henford House always strive to provide the best possible quality care for everyone who lives at the home. Tracey, one of our wonderful senior carers, provided us with a cake to celebrate the vouchers being given out today.”

The CQC inspected the home on September 23 and its report was published on October 16.

It stated: “People were supported to have maximum choice and control of their lives.

"Staff supported them in the least restrictive way possible and in their best interests; the policies and systems in the service supported this practice.

"People's health care needs were assessed and reviewed to ensure people were supported to be healthy and free from pain. We saw detailed assessments, care plans and records monitoring people's skin care, weight, and health conditions.”

The report added: “Feedback was sought from people, their relatives and staff, to help continually develop the service. The registered manager and staff team helped to foster a person-centred culture.”

The home's strong links between the service and people or organisations in the local community were also noted in the report. These have been maintained during the Covid-19 pandemic.

In celebration, each team member was presented with £100 gift voucher in appreciation of their contribution to the home.

Mrs James added: "Henford House is welcoming new residents to ensure we are there for those that need care and support. The home has a very clear admission policy and infection control protocols that must be met."

"Please do give us a call on 01985 212430 if you are looking for care or need any further help."
