Devizes residents have been encouraged to share their views on plans for a large-scale development.

An application is being prepared by the Pegasus Group for future development of land, situated immediately to the north of Coate Road and to the south of the Kennet and Avon Canal, to create 255 homes.

New vehicular access from Windsor Drive and Coate Road is also proposed.

The website states: "Devizes is identified in the Wiltshire Core Strategy as a market town. It is therefore a sustainable location for development.

"The town has a large and varied employment base and a good record of attracting small and medium sized businesses."

You can click here or email coateroaddevizes@pegasusgroup.co.uk before December 11 to share your views.

Once the planning application has been registered by Wiltshire Council, people will have a further formal opportunity to comment on the proposals.

Similar plans to build on seperate land near Coate Road were quashed in 2014.

Bishops Cannings Parish Council have already confirmed on Facebook they "remain opposed" to the development.
