One sight we will not be seeing this year is that of shoppers flocking to grab a bargain on Black Friday this year.

Thanksgiving Day in the United States, which is celebrated on the fourth Thursday of November, usually is accompanied with sales at shops which see many on the look out for a cut-price deal.

In order to get in there early, it was common to see people turn up early in the morning to ensure that a deal would be had!

In recent times, the tradition has largely died off in the UK due to safety concerns due the prevalence of crowds and this year will undoubtedly see a more tepid approach to proceedings with more shopping being done online.

For those pictured, this gallery will be an amusing reminder of a unique pastime at this time of the year for those looking for a bargain.
