STUDENTS from more than a dozen schools worked together virtually to make up a Christmas jingle video to spread some cheer.

Ashley Martin, headteacher at Heddington Primary School in Calne, said the idea came to him in a dream.

“I had a dream where I saw a montage of all the schools in Calne singing sections of the song We’ll Meet Again,” said Mr Martin.

“When I woke up, I thought we could do the same but with a Christmas song. In the absence of remembrance, nativity services and Christmas fayres this year, it seemed like a good way of giving something back to our wonderfully cohesive Calne community, as well as allowing the community to see what the children can do."

Andy Mitchell of Mitchell Digital Media, donated his time for free to put the video together.

The festive carol will be played as part of the Light Up Calne For Christmas initiative, where more than 150 homes will coordinate in switching on their Christmas lights at 6pm tonight.
