A 14-year-old teenager is still in a stable condition after being seriously injured in a collision in West Lavington yesterday afternoon.

The boy was airlifted to Southmead Hospital in Bristol with potentially life-changing head injuries following the accident.

Officers were called to reports of a collision between a teenager and a van on Lavington Lane around 2.20pm on Friday.

A 50-year-old van driver was arrested at the scene on suspicion of driving offences. He has been released under investigation.

The road was closed while police collision investigators continued their enquiries.
