FOOD retailer Waitrose in Melksham has donated £333 to Wiltshire Bobby Van Trust as part of its Community Matters scheme.

Charity's director Jennie Shaw thanked the store for choosing the Trust as one of their charities.

She added: "In these unprecedented times the Trust continues to serve. Our operators are still working in the community, focusing on emergency work and in particular the rise, in line with the National Statistics, of domestic abuse during this period of lockdown.""It is desperately sad to know that many people aren’t safe to stay at home, the one safe place we enjoy. The impact on those living with its effects are often long lasting and devastating."Our Stay Safe Online team has been running for nearly three years and continues to go from strength to strength and although they have not been visiting homes during the lockdown they were still able to offer telephone advice. Hopefully they will be able to get back to normal service soon."We cannot maintain the highly professional service we do without the generosity of organisations like yourselves and we are, as ever, so grateful for your continued support."
