WINNERS of the Trowbridge Nativity Trail competition have been presented with their prizes.

In first place was Barbara Wozniak, aged nine, who collected her prize with her siblings and also visited the shepherds at St Thomas' Church.

Barbara's mum, Jadwiga, said: "We are very surprised and happy. We enjoyed the trail and it was amazing. It took us, all our little family, three days to complete because we wanted to walk as it made us more aware and empathised with the story of first Christmas."

Max Hill, aged 11, won second prize, and Theo Buxton, aged 10, came third. Twelve more winners, including Elizabeth Hale (age one) and David Hull, also collected their prizes between Christmas and New Year.

Organisers Geoff and Harriet Heard said: "There has been a lot of positive feedback on the creativity of the different nativity scenes and it was great to bring the true meaning of Christmas to our town."

"Over 5,000 people viewed the website and if you didn't manage to complete the entire trail you can see it all in a new video at www.nativitytrail.info."
