Devizes firefighters attended two incidents last night (December 17)
Units were first called to a chimney fire, which had involved a log burning stove, in West Lavington.
It emerged that the flames were outside the flue, and resting on a ledge in the fireplace itself.
A post on the Devizes Fire Station facebook page states: βThe fire was quickly dealt with without removing the woodburner and a smoke alarm and a carbon monoxide alarm were fitted before leaving.β
Just before midnight, teams were again sent out to reports of a chimney fire, this time in the village of Marston.
Upon arrival, the fire had burnt itself out. Firefighters inspected the property and fire place before calling it a night, and returning to Devizes Fire Station.
Following our last tweet regarding the incident attended by Wareham, time for some home fire safety advice!
