TOWN wardens in Bradford on Avon have been test-driving a new nippy vehicle to use during their work.
The four wardens - Stewart Heatherwick, Simon Sutton, Keith Denmark and Richard Snarr - hope to use the environmentally-friendly electric vehicle to help tackle some of the services the town is taking on from Wiltshire Council under the asset transfer programme.
The council said: "Today, we’ve been test driving a rather nippy electric vehicle which we are considering for various purposes, including use by the town wardens."
The vehicle will also be used by the council's facilities management team and by the Bradford on Avon Community Emergency Volunteers.
The aim is reduce the town council’s overall carbon footprint as part of its climate emergency declaration.
A spokesman said: "We are also looking into provision of electric vehicle chargers and will post updates in due course on that."
