A TROWBRIDGE man was spared an immediate jail sentence for weapons offences and drug driving.

Joseph Taylor, 38, was sentenced to five months’ imprisonment suspended for a year when he appeared before Salisbury Crown Court on Friday.

The Shrewton Close man was caught with a police-style baton and a lock knife in Bradley Road, Trowbridge, on December 1, 2019.

He was also found to be over the drug drive limit for cocaine bi-product benzoylecgonine, having driven a 2004-plate Seat Leon on Bradley Road.

Judge Andrew Barnett, Honorary Recorder of Salisbury, banned Taylor from driving for a year.
